Because I'm an idiot for just buying a regular Grand Marquis. The only two reasons I have are that there weren't any for sale within 100 miles of me when I was on the market, and I hate the pre-05 steering wheels that Mercury Panthers had. I'm sure it isn't that difficult to swap the 06-plus into it.

Oops! How'd that last one get in there?! Oh wait...that's my car.

2007. In 2006, the Grand Marquis got a new face (headlights no longer touch the grille, foglights), new tailpiece (smoked instead of red) between the lights and a much nicer new steering wheel.

Hope you can. I have no idea how many of them are left, I believe Ford sold about 11,000 of them, many have been drag raced to death or are sitting on 30" rimzzz.

I'd say there are clean Marauders left but they are little bit more expensive than I'd like them to be. Especially when you count in all the importing expenses and taxes.

Yeah. When I bought my Mercury 7 months ago, my 2007 with 74,000 miles was at least $2500, if not more cheaper than an '03 Marauder.

I didn't get a marauder because it didnt have a front bench seat. And I kind of like my '04 steering wheel. Its not the prettiest but the "wood" on it feels quite nice. Plus they went to throttle by wire in '05 which is a pain. I do like the facelift they did. One day I'd like to swap out my front clip.
